"Black Stone"

At a small park near my house, there's a small pathway and the brick is fascinating when looking at it in the sunlight. The ruffled look creates excellent shadows and lighting and I thought this was a good photo moment. So I bent down really close to capture a good shot of a black-stoned brick.

"Bye Bye Birdie"

At the same pond near my house, I saw a duck flying away and caught it at a perfect time. I saw a photo of a photographer I met and he had a picture of a bird with its really big wings in the middle of flight and it was very striking. Even though the duck is hard to see in the picture, I still got it with really good timing. And it was the only one I got.

The title is also the same as the musical with Dick Van Dyke and Ann-Margaret.

"Blame it on the Weatherman"

I love this piece. It was taken at a pond close to my house looking up at a rainy sky and a tree. I call it "Blame it on the Weatherman" because (not only is it a song title by the band B*Witched) but because it started raining after I took the picture. So I should blame it on the weatherman for making it rain.

I actually submitted this picture to an art gallery along with a sunshine picture, and I won an award from the sunshine picture. One I didn't even like that much. I like this one much better. I guess it just goes to show us that people like sunshine rather than rain.

This is a very good picture and I don't see why people don't see that.

"Autumn Street"

Hello, readers. My name's Cary Pohlhammer. I'm not new to blogging, but I haven't done it in a while. To view another blog of mine, go to cary21.blogspot.com. That's one that I tried working on for author Julie Powell.

This time, I'm going to talk about the photography I've done. I'm an amateur photographer. And I'm going to try to have a new picture in a new post. Necessarily a consecutive post. And I'll start with this one.

I was taking my dog for a walk on a cold, chilly, autumn day and decided to get this photo. I love falls colors and the new colors of the trees before they release their leaves. The oranges, reds, yellows, browns; I love them all. And this time with the leaves blown everywhere, I'm glad I got a chance to get the photo before they were raked up.
